Family | The Costas + a new kid in town...

Thursday, May 15, 2008

I can't find the right words to say about the Costas Family - ones that would accurately encompass who and what they are.. For starters, they happen to be very good friends of mine. I knew Jeanne and L.U. (that's right, L.U.) just only a few fresh weeks into their relationship, which is interesting especially now that I've seen how much their family has grown in a matter of a few, short years. They are sincerely the most down-to-earth folks you'll ever meet. The best part yet is you know you're in for a treat if you ever get invited to one of their gatherings, which I so happen to enjoy. Also get this - LU makes the best Shaka (spelling?) barbecue chicken wings in town.

When I received word that Jeanne had given birth to a baby girl, I was elated but also selfish to think one thing: that is one baby I have GOT to get pictures of. And, as you might imagine the Costas happily obliged and allowed me to document this precious little life that now exists in their world. Her name is Sabrina Teresa Costa.

Below are a few of my personal favorites from the shoot. Have a look:

I think this is my favorite of all..

Tell me that's not the face of the happiest man on earth!

Sabrina naps while I sneak in a few shots....

Look who's awake now?

In case many of you aren't aware, I have an affinity for baby feet.

Isn't Sabrina a natural?

*drum roll please* I present you (echo), Sabrina (echo) Teresa (echo) Costa!!!!!!!

okay, so I snuck in a few more foot shots. So what?

Boofa (defined 'flatulence' in Portugese) is quite the observant dog. She is also second eldest among all the children.

Big sister Olivia gets chummy with the camera! Isn't she stinkin' cute?

There were times when staring at this beautiful life was so intense, but in a good way. THIS was one of those moments for me...

Linguica (defined as Portugese Sausage), is the eldest of the children. She is also excited to have a new baby in the family...she told me so herself.
A bond that is truly remarkable. Olivia is SUCH a daddy's little girl.

I love the contrast of rough hands against soft, baby skin.

Jeanne is radiant.
