Personal | The Beach Cafe

Thursday, February 14, 2008

I've been driving down Highway 1 to Pacifica and Half Moon Bay for years. For any reason whether to think, get work done, or get away I always sought comfort in taking my drives along the coast. Once in a while I'd make a stop at the local Beach Cafe in Pacifica. Years have passed since I've been to the tiny shack. Last year was extremely busy for me, so much so that the days of leisure spent driving along the coast were so far from reach. While on my way for a cup of coffee this afternoon, I got to the cafe, to see that it was empty, lifeless, without a fresh pot of coffee or someone to bang it around for me. It was entirely abandoned. It felt really sad. It was a definite marker for me. So, I rushed back home to grab my camera in fear the place may get demolished and just like "that", I'd never get to see it again.
