For some of you who are new to this idea, TTD stands short for Trash The Dress. It's a growing phenomenon among brides everywhere - it is symbolic in gesture however any one person may interpret it, but no matter how you look at it, I think it's a pretty cool way of expressing a new beginning. This is my first TTD post, so I'm really excited to share this with everyone. You may remember Lauren, whose wedding I second shot back in April for the lovely Jen Hosler of Candid Moments Photography.
I'm away from my home computer, but for now I wanted to share a few of my faves (part 2 forthcoming so check back in a couple days)....

Lauren was SUCH an amazing sport. She did anything Jen and I asked her to do. You can't tell, but the crowd that gathered around us found this shot quite amusing.

It was crazy windy in the Marin Headlands this weekend which made for cool wind-in-hair effect.


I like an ol-skool image every now and again......

My fabulously fabulous good friend Cindy and I make it a point to do something fun each month, and in a perfect world - my schedule permitting - I'd probably opt for a delightful excursion every other week at the very least. But the truth is, shooting for other photographers, myself included, working the 8-5 and staying up through all-nighter edits, it gets a little impossible and hard to manage my own personal life. So when I do go out (nothing that would blow wind up your skirt, assuming that you're wearing one), I try to make it the very best.  This month we trekked down Highway 1 to a blissfully warm Santa Cruz. We tried making it to the Mystery Spot which was the sole purpose for why I brought my gear with me in the first place (not to snap shots as I cruise through some lame carwash), but the line and wait alone would have cut into a huge portion of our day.  But, we'll be heading back out there again, and I can't wait to post whatever interesting images come of it.

I have to admit that while I truly enjoy second shooting for other wedding photographers, I get antsy because I also really love shooting my own. So when MaryAnne + Angel approached me to shoot their wedding, I happily obliged. The ceremony was held at Holy Angels Church, which exists in the heart of the true Fog City (Daly City) just South of Fog City (San Francisco).

The story about Mary Anne + Angel: they both carried the same unusually unique last names pre marriage years ago; they currently have two children + 1 on the way.

Congratulations Mary Anne + Angel! I wish you well on your journey together as a family. To love, more children and a life of chaos and happiness! :-)

Mary Anne wore a beautiful traditional Filipina wedding gown which was designed by an atelier in the Philippines.





For many, many years I've driven by Holy Angels often thinking to myself "hhmmm...I wonder what I should have for lunch today.." In other words, Holy Angels was never on my radar, in fact, even though it was apparent it was a church, being the total dud I am, it never exactly registered! Although the structure was erected in the 60's, for some reason or another, it gives off an old world feeling. This gem is so oddly placed to me, yet you'd never guess that all this beauty existed inside. I took the liberty and trespassed at my own leisure, found some rather interesting statuettes and hidden rooms.

You may remember Kristi + Eric from their engagement session I posted a few months back. Now the couple is newly wed with an exciting future ahead of them. It was also refreshing to see these two let loose and have a wonderful time with their friends and family.

You might remember Donna and Rachael several posts back.  In fact, this blog doesn't go too far into history so it should be quite easy to remember who these lovely ladies are.  Donna and Rachael joined Sharon over the weekend for a day out in the town...well, more like a day at the W Hotel.  The girls weren't keen on the idea of being posed with chin on hand in front of an icky grey backdrop - a la strip mall photo studio set up.  Rather, they all opted to hang out and chill in the lobby, 'round the bar, near the pool, lounging in their pajamas....as friends do.  This was my first time EVER to do a shoot like this and I must say I had a terrific time planning things out with these girls every step of the way! To Donna, Rachael, and Sharon...CHEERS to friendship and a FANTASTIC time!






You can't tell, but Sharon (left) is having serious wardrobe malfunction. LOL!
