I met Sharon sometime back in March. We exchanged emails for a brief while before we finally met to discuss her shoot. That morning sometime back in March, before we could even order from the Millbrae Pancake House menu, we went straight to pulling ideas from our hats. "I was thinking along the lines of Albert Vargas," she grinned. Alberto Vargas? What?! Is she kidding me? I secretly worshipped him growing up: in my father's closet, with my father's prized Alberto Vargas hardcover ooh-ing and aaahh-ing at the color, the beautiful illustrations. Most girls my age played with Barbies, I wanted to draw them.
Needless to say, our shoot at the W Hotel this weekend turned out to be quite a spectacular event. A photographer could not have asked for more, a bright room with great light, a fun and easy-going client with quite a colorful wardrobe!

Sharon serenades us all....
Betty Page is Filipina!
Betty Boop was too!!
For our first shoot, Sharon dressed to the 9's in a 1930's ensemble: fishnets, patent heels, pencil skirt and a pin-curled 'do. To achieve the treatment on these images, I turned to Hitchcock's Vertigo as my muse for a film noir feel..
the suspense is killing me! who is she talking to?
